TY week 8

04-November-19

5th November - TY Admin

Getting credit

Make sure you fill in the Blue record book for any activity you have been involved in outside of your normal timetable or out of school.

Photographs

If you are doing an exciting activity in class please come and get the TY phone and take some photos for our facebook page.

Trade Fair

As part of your Business course many of you will be putting a stall in the school trade fair. Please be organised for this and don’t leave everything to the last minute. Those students not doing business are still welcome to take a stall.

Full cooperation

There is to be no slacking off in any subjects. It is important that you work hard in class and meet all deadlines. There will be a first report on your progress filled in by all teachers by the end of November Some teachers may give you an exam before hand or use a project or piece of work as your assessment. Please check with your teacher how you will be graded. Assessment week is 5th- 15th of November.

Work Experience

There are still a number of work experience forms outstanding. I think it’s about time you got this sorted. Please let me know if you are attending Seagate work experience in November or any other one off experiences as Fran needs this for attendance records.

Out of class

Please have a TY permission slip or lanyard if you are out of class for any reason

Citizenship Project

How is this going? What are the plans for this

Buncrana Nursing unit project

Can I ask the students who were at the nursing unit before midterm to do some research on old buildings in Buncrana for tomorrow as you may be going up to visit again tomorrow. I will confirm by email later today. Is everyone happy to still be involved in this project?

TY Zoology Programme

Has anyone applied for this? I posted the link on Facebook

CTYI - Online Correspondence courses in Medicine, Psychology, Legal Studies & Writing. Costs 200 euro but well worth it. Definite stepping stone to college entrance. Also gets you a free place on their talent search programme.

The Bar of Ireland - Looking into Law, has anybody applied for this.

Pop goes Primary

Looking for a committee to take on the organisation of this event. Other people will be able to get involved on the night. The areas we need for the committee are sponsorship, public relations, event management, judges, sound, and advertising. Possibly have this end of January. Please apply via email.

Newspaper

Darcie is working in the Inishowen Independent and Ms Grant has asked that we start to showcase some of the many activities we are involved in in the paper. If you think of anything or are involved in anything you think Darcie could write about then please let her know or give her some info.

John Paul

Has anyone applied to work in the Christmas trail at Iosas Centre?

What is everyone doing for their parish duties?

Gaisce

There is a large number of students who haven’t yet registered for Gaisce online. The following names need to get this finalised in IT class tomorrow.

Change of subjects

The modulating subjects will change next Friday 15th of November to your new 10 week subject. Teachers should off carried out some form of assessment in advance of this in order to fill in your reports.

PressPass

The newspapers for this competition are in macs today. We need to ask Paddy to collect them as they will send them back otherwise. Who has Ms Deeney for English? Can you let her know please.
