Peer Mentoring Programme - Donegal Youth Service

(12+). Programme aimed at giving young adults the

skills to support other young people who might be struggling. We

teach them the signs, ways to approach a young person and the

listening skills they need. We also teach them about when it is

important to involve a designated person in the conversation. They

receive a certificate when they complete the programme. This

programme is approximately 5hrs long and can be delivered in a way

that suits e.g. 1 x 1hr per week or over a couple of days. This is a

more intense programme and because of the nature of it we would like

to keep in contact with the Listeners/Mentors over the year to give

support in any way we can.

Reminder to parents to register your child for the RSCI Minimed work experience if they have an interest in Science, Nursing, Medicine etc

Parents Emails - Still a half dozen email addresses missing. Please make sure your parents email is included.

Taking part

Reminding everyone that you must make an effort to get involved in TY activities. You did not choose this year to doss and if that is the attitude you have at the minute then make a quick change as I will be contacting parents of students who are not taking part.

Would you like to get one of these cards?

Hello, Scoil Mhuire

ISIC/ ISSU are issuing cards now in your region. What is the ISIC Card? The ISIC Card is the official student card of the Irish Second-level Students’ Union. We are the only internationally recognised student card with over 4.5 million cards issued annually and are also endorsed by the U.N and the E.U council on culture.

Currently, the benefits of student status (student fares on Irish Rail, discounts in various stores, etc.) are reserved for third level students who hold a recognised national college student card. ISIC is bridging this gap and allowing second level students to obtain these existing benefits, as well as 150,000+ worldwide exclusive student discounts and benefits currently associated with the ISIC Card. Our discounters include Lifestyle Sports, Forever 21, Urban Outfitters, McDonald’s, and Wagamama's.

I've attached a short PDF which outlines what the ISIC card is and the various options we have to offer. I would love to hear your thoughts on these options and which one you think would work best for you. We are flexible and want to hear your opinions.
