  • Please hand in your work experience permission sheet immediately.

  • Please fill in a second form and update your info if you have changed your work experience or are doing extra work experience
  • Please remember to complete your garda vetting form if you are over 16 and working with young people.
  • Please let us know if you have any issues or concerns about your work experience or if there is anything you are unhappy about.
  • Remember it is essential you follow all covid related and general health and safety guidelines at all times while on work experience. Protect yourselves and your families and friends.

Shared Documents

  • Please remember to complete the google classroom work on your visit to Derry.
  • Under no circumstances should you delete or alter any documents that are shared with you by a teacher. Follow the teachers instructions and remember if it's a shared document and you have to work on it then it is often the case that you will need to make a copy of the document for yourself first.

John Paul 11 Award

Please get this set up and running with Ms O’Connor, you should have started on it by now.

Buncrana Youth Club

As I have already said, the youth leader at BYC are looking for TY to volunteer to work as supervisors and maybe work to become leaders themselves. You do not have to have a particular skill, just a willingness to help out. The hours will count towards your community for JOhn Paul and Gaisce. Please email your name if you are interested. They are open to your suggestions for the club and may run activities for you to take part in too, if you have some good suggestions.

Newspaper

Reminder I am looking for a group of students to start a school newspaper. It could be published every half term. Please let me know if you might be interested.

Competitions

Please can everyone enter at least one competition before midterm. Check the TY facebook, previous admin news and the emails that were forwarded to you. A massive congratulations to Leahrose Davis who has won a trip to Brussels in the recent graduate.ie competition. This is a weekly quiz competition with a trip to brussels at the price each week. An easy one to enter!

Gaisce

A final reminder to register for Gaisce. I will be getting Nikki to pay the bill to them this week so everyone needs to be on it. You can log your activities just by filling them into the bronze record sheet which you print from the gaisce website. You do not have to do the online entries.

Autism Awareness

It is great to see so many of you joining the autism awareness campaign last Thursday. Please get your steps in and give what you can to help. There will be an organised walk next week during school organised by Ms McElhinney.

Mica Protest

Well done to everyone who went to Dublin on Friday to support your friends, family and community in their demand for 100% redress.

Medical Work Experience

Final reminder that the RCSI online work experience week can still be registered for. The registration must be completed by your parents. The link was shared last week and sent out in the news on the app. This work experience was enjoyed by students last year particularly those that had an interest in science, nursing or medicine.

The other Trinity work experience I shared is specifically for those that have a real interest in doing medicine and places are very limited for this. Please let me know if you would like to apply today.

Tug of war training

Tug of War training will commence next Tuesday the 19th during PE. One class each week will receive the training with a view to having an inter school competition and a national competition.

The Science of Health & Happiness

Please watch what is happiness..
