Donegal County Council have approved the YSI class proposal to clear the path from the play park to the Beach on the shore front. This work will allow wheelchair access onto the beach for those with suitable wheelchairs. The class have highlighted that access to the beach is also dependent on the changes to the beach area by tides but the work will allow wheelchair users to be closer to the sand area.

The YSI students have also proposed an area for a wheelchair user to sit closer to the beach to improve inclusion on class visits to the beach or family days out.

This week, The YSI class will place notices on the shore front of upcoming works. It is planned that a digger will clear the path on Friday. On Saturday YSI students and other volunteers will concrete an area close to the beach that will allow wheelchair users to sit close to the beach area.
