40 days - 40 items or Lent Plastic Challenge

What can we do this Lent to make a change?
40 days - 40 items or Lent Plastic Challenge

Lent began today and we remember that this is a time to grow and change. A time to spring clean our thoughts, words and actions and remind ourselves that it is a time to reflect on what's important. We need to challenge ourselves and think how our actions value ourselves and others. In the words of Pope Francis may our Lent this year in 2019 be a Journey of Hope and may we share our spiritual and material goods with those in need.
Scoil Mhuire also intends to take part in the '40 Days - 40 items Challenge'. Each day, families are asked to remove one item from the home, which you don't wear anymore and bring them into the school. At the end of Lent, these items to be donated to a local charity. Anyone who would like to take part, may leave the items at reception or give to any student who may leave them with Ms O'Connor or Ms Dowds.

TY World Affairs is giving up plastic for Lent and we invite you to join us! Send us a blog, photos or a video of how you refused, reused, and rebelled against the overuse of pointless, harmful plastic thrown at us in our daily lives.

Congratulations to Orla Barnett 5th year, winner of our ECO-Christmas campaign, photos of Orla and her prize to follow!
